Customs brokerage by our in-house licensed agents.

Tariff classification, SMK declarations, free-zone movements, duty drawback applications and JKDM audit support — all handled by our team of four licensed customs agents based in KL Sentral.

What we file

Declarations we lodge every week.

  • K1: import for home use.
  • K2: export of locally manufactured goods.
  • K3: movement of goods between principal customs areas and free zones.
  • K8: transhipment and through cargo.
  • K9: dutiable goods removed from bonded warehouses.
  • ZB1, ZB2, ZB3, ZB4: free zone declarations for clients operating in Port Klang Free Zone and KLIA Aeropolis.

Everything is filed electronically via the SMK system, with paper backup retained in line with the seven-year record-keeping requirement.

Beyond the basics

Where our brokerage earns its keep.

HS code classification

Misclassifying cargo is the most common cause of port detention. We classify against the latest Customs Duties Order and document our reasoning so it stands up to JKDM audit.

Origin and FTA optimisation

We check eligibility under ATIGA, MJEPA, MCFTA, AANZFTA and the wider RCEP framework. Many clients reclaim 4-9% of landed cost when we apply the right preferential origin.

Duty drawback

For goods re-exported within twelve months we lodge drawback applications to recover duty paid on import. Typical recovery cycle is four to six months.

Restricted goods permits

We obtain the relevant approving authority permits — MITI, SIRIM, NPRA, DOA, DOE — before cargo arrival to avoid demurrage at the port.

Post-clearance audit

JKDM PCA is on the rise. We prepare clients for an audit by reconciling 24 months of declarations and helping respond to information requests within statutory deadlines.

AEO support

For clients pursuing Authorised Economic Operator status we map the requirements, draft the self-assessment and shepherd the application through validation.

Working with our brokerage team.

You can engage us in two ways. The simplest is to use our brokerage as part of an end-to-end freight booking — in that case the customs work sits inside one quote and one invoice.

The second is to engage us purely as your customs agent when your freight is moved by another forwarder. This is common for clients who have a long-standing relationship with an overseas freight provider but want a Malaysian agent who understands SMK and JKDM. The minimum engagement is a six-month retainer with a per-declaration fee structure.
